Faith Promise : Taking God's Love to the World

Faith Promise is a Biblically-based plan for mission giving embraced by the Church of the Nazarene to help local churches raise financial support for world evangelization. For our denomination, it is dedicated specially to the mission support of the Church of the Nazarene through various offerings promoted by Nazarene Missions International.

05/29/06 - Crisis Care Kits Urgently Needed

The Nazarene Compassionate ministries division is sending out an URGENT request for Crisis Care Kits. There are currently no kits available - the warehouse is empty! With hurricane season upon us, we are hoping to help restock the warehouse in time to cover any eventuality. Please help! Contact Trish Cuthbert, tcuthbert@northridgeonline.org, for more information or to receive a Crisis Care kit you'd like to fill.

03/22/06 - Missionary Visit & Potluck Dinner

We enjoyed missionaries, Rolf and Debbie Kleinfeld, visit from Southeast Asia on Wednesday March 22, 2006. Rolf and Debbie are former Virginia Nazarenes who were called to serve the Lord in missions with a focus on teenagers and young adults. Rolf is a former youth Pastor and was deeply involved in the Virginia District Youth ministry. God used his passion for youth and sent him as a missionary to an area where the majority of the population is under the age of 25! Rolf shared many pictures, stories and testimonies with us at Northridge. The evening was very inspiring and there was a sense among us that this truly is God's Church and we have the privilege of being part of a mission that goes beyond our limited reach.

02/06/06 - Faith Promise Message

Dennis Moore, Southern Florida's former District Missions President, joined us on Sunday morning February 12, 2006. During our worship service Dennis gave us a glimpse at what the Church of the Nazarene is doing around the world and how we can help that continue.

2/12/06 - Care Packages for Ukraine Children

In 2005 Roxanne Alexander, a missionary from the Ukraine, blessed us with a visit to Northridge Community Church. At that time Roxanne shared many pictures and stories about the children of the Ukraine and how the AIDS epidemic is making so many of these children orphans who have to live on the streets. Roxanne has recently contacted us to share that this winter the Ukraine is suffering from record breaking freezing temperatures and many people are dying from the cold - especially the children. Roxanne and others in the Nazarene Missions field are trying to feed, clothe, and find shelter for these people. Please pray for Roxanne and especially for the poor children of the Ukraine. We would like to send a care package to Roxanne filled with winter clothing for the children. If you are able to give any winter clothing, blankets, hats, mittens, scarves, boots, socks, etc. from your home that would be such a blessing to these children. What a great opportunity to teach our children how they can help in tangible ways to save other children across the world from freezing this winter! If you are able to donate any items or have any questions, please contact Trish Cuthbert at tcuthbert@northridgeonline.org.

Northridge Responds to Hurricane Katrina

Thank you to all who participated with the Crisis Care Kits and the School Pal Paks.

  • We were able to send out 84 Crisis Care Kits and 70 School Pal Paks.
  • The families of Northridge raised $1,000 for the Katrina relief fund.
  • We have opened our hearts and our arms to welcome 4 families displaced by Katrina to Charlottesville.
  • We provided food, clothing, furniture and housing - all of which was greatly appreciated.

Missions Support Team

We would like to set up a team that meets possibly once a month for an hour or so to discuss mission opportunities.

  • Do you have a heart for missions?
  • Want to share the love of Jesus through acts of kindness and/or service? Not just locally, but also globally!
  • Curious about how you can help?
  • Have ideas to share?

We Need You! For more information please contact Trish Cuthbert at: tcuthbert@northridgeonline.org.
